Ok, here is a friggin great idea....well to me anyways. You try to get more people "involved" in pvp, but not exactly involved. You for one, can have 1 vs 1 fights. Its a arena, so people can come in a view the fighting that is taking place and watch their favorites kick butt or suffer a loss. Perhaps have the option of sitting in the statium type area, interacting and screaming (typing) comments to the combatants, cheering or booing. Then the interesting part that will as the very least pull people to it. Allow a bidding system, where you bid on the matches, and the team or person who you think would win. The reward could of course be gold or whatever. It is another way to link pvp and pve worlds, that I'm not so negative about. Make it not a pvp only type thing, but something that exists in both worlds. And if they want to make it ever more interesting, they could put player vs monster or something. I think its a great idea, and ANet should really consider it. All in favor, please voice your opinions. Sigh, and if you must, post if your against as well.

This would be fun, but there would have to be some rebalancing soley for such an event. It's pretty easy to make a character completely invulnerable to any other single character who didn't build in advance to counter it.

Making a game of it where you could completely mini-objectives in the arena allowing you to spawn certain monsters to help you might help with this problem.

Reducing all healing (like placing some sorta permanent defile flesh enchant on combatants) might also be necessary, along with allowing a bigger skill bar for the duel arena.

Sounds fine to me

We need some sort of 1v1 PvP battles. I would like it, and it doesn't really harm anyone else if they don't take part in it

goodie, the monk will probably autowin because it is impossible to keep up with a good monks healing. or rof spam forever. Then we have to deal with the runners and such....

one build would completly dominate this, the air ele, just keep knocking the opponent down.

but other then that i thinks its a great idea, it has potential. but if they did do this ballance it out so its class vs class or something like that. so you dont have a warrior going against a mesmer etc (yea i know the mesmer could win, but not likley)
